Fabiano has secured his place in the FIDE Chess World Championship in November. He will face Magnus Carlsen the current world champion from Norway. Fabiano is the first American since the legendary Bobby Fischer to make it to the World Championship match.
Shankland Wins US Championship In St. Louis.

Sam Shankland wins US Chess Championship. He beat out 3 of the top ten players in the world to get there. He is now rated 45th in the world and broke 2700 in his Fide rankings. Congrats to Sam.
